This powerful n8n workflow automates the crucial task of backlink monitoring. It seamlessly integrates with Google Sheets to read your list of backlinks and their associated landing pages. Leveraging the DataForSEO API, it then meticulously checks if each backlink is still live and pointing correctly. The workflow cleans backlink URLs, initiates a crawl for each target, waits for results, and then determines the status (Live, Lost, or Lost - Nofollow). Finally, it updates your Google Sheet with the latest backlink status, providing you with up-to-date insights for proactive SEO management and preventing potential SEO penalties from broken links.

How To Use
- Prepare Your Google Sheet: Create a Google Sheet with at least two columns: 'Backlink URL' and 'Landing page'. Populate this sheet with your backlinks and the corresponding pages they link to.
- Configure Google Sheets Nodes: In the 'Reads Google Sheets' node, specify your Google Sheet document ID and the sheet name containing your backlink data. Ensure you select the correct columns for 'Backlink URL' and 'Landing page'. In the 'Sends data to Google sheets' node, configure the output columns to match your desired reporting format (e.g., 'Status' and 'Backlink URL').
- Set Up DataForSEO Credentials: Obtain API credentials for DataForSEO and input them into the HTTP Basic Auth credentials in n8n for both the 'Sends HTTP POST Request to DataForSEO' and 'Sends HTTP links request to DataforSeo' nodes.
- Adjust DataForSEO API Calls: The 'Sends HTTP POST Request to DataForSEO' node is pre-configured to use the 'Backlink URL' and 'Landing page' from your Google Sheet. The 'max_crawl_pages' is set to 1, which you can adjust if needed.
- Test and Run: Use the 'Test workflow' button on the 'When clicking ‘Test workflow’' node to trigger the workflow. Monitor the execution and check your Google Sheet for the updated backlink status.
